La quinta stagione del Championship Abb Formula E con le nuove Gen2 è stata tra le più eccitanti agonisticamente nella storia delle corse elettriche e del motorsport. ANTONIO FELIX DA COSTA JOINS
DS TECHEETAH

DS TECHEETAH are very proud to announce that Antonio Felix Da Costa will join the team on 1 October 2019.

The 28-year-old Portuguese driver will take his long-term #13 for Season Six of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship that will commence on 22 November 2019 in Riyadh.

Antonio has raced in the championship since its inception, having contested 54 races where he achieved pole positions, podiums and two race wins (Buenos Aires and Riyadh). In Season Five, 2018/2019, Antonio finished 6th overall.

EOX DRAGON SIGNS NICO MÜLLER, COMPLETES SEASON SIX DRIVER LINE-UP

 

Los Angeles, September 18th, 2019 – GEOX DRAGON confirms Nico Müller ahead of ABB FIA Formula E Season 6

 

GEOX DRAGON is pleased to announce the signing of Nico Müller, to drive the #7 Penske EV-4 in the sixth season of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship.

 

This season will be Nico’s first competition in a single-seater series since he scored two wins in his 2013 Formula Renault 3.5 campaign. Nico has spent the past six years climbing to the top of the DTM, and currently is second in the 2019 Drivers’ Championship.

 

Müller got his first taste of Formula E with two seasons as a Test and Reserve Driver. During this time, he demonstrated blistering pace, leading the Rookie Test at the Circuit Moulay El Hassan in Marrakech in Season 4 by nearly a second, while simultaneously setting the circuit record. In Season 5, Nico repeated the feat.

 

Since coming on board, the Swiss driver has quickly integrated into the Team’s development program, working on the track and at the squad’s new Silverstone facility to continue refining the Season 6 package.

 

Upon his joining the American Team, Nico said that “I have already met and started working with most of the Team. They are an extremely motivated group of racers. They have proven their ability to win races and challenge for podiums in Formula E. They have done it before, and we aim to do it in Season 6.”

 

Müller added that “we have a big challenge ahead of us. We are an independent manufacturer, and the level of competition in Formula E is the highest in Motorsport, but I have a lot of confidence in the Team. We have a compact structure, and everyone has a full grasp on the project, so together we will be able to move quickly and optimize the PENSKE AUTOSPORT package.”

 

On his rookie campaign, Nico commented that “I love street racing, and I am looking forward to lining up against the best guys out there. Formula E is particularly challenging, especially for a rookie, but I think we have an extremely exciting year ahead of us. We are looking forward to competing with these major OEMs, and I am pumped to be able to put pressure on the big teams right from the start in Riyadh.”

JAKARTA, INDONESIA (September 20, 2019) – Formula E is set to race in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta for the first time this coming season, adding to the long list of iconic cities featured on the 2019/20 ABB FIA Formula E Championship calendar.
Jakarta joins Seoul and London as another exciting new venue for fans to look forward to in season six, with the race in Indonesia scheduled to take place on June 6.
A full grid of 24 cars and the most competitive line-up in motorsport, including new manufacturers Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, will navigate their way around the National Monument in Merdeka Square in the centre of the city – subject to circuit homologation and approval of the FIA World Motor Sport Council.
Formula E is continuing to expand its global reach and mass appeal with another event in an emerging market for electric vehicles in Asia.
As the fourth most populated country on the planet – behind only China, India and the USA – Indonesia is an important strategic market for Formula E, helping to inspire future generations to embrace clean energy and in turn tackle the devastating effects of air pollution.
The track layout and circuit configuration will be revealed at a later date, along with the updated calendar and full list of dates and destinations for season six following the next FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting in October.

LONDON, UK (September 16, 2019) – Jamie Reigle has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Formula E with immediate effect, bringing a wealth of experience building and developing global sports properties to accelerate the ABB FIA Formula E Championship’s ambitious growth plan.
With a proven track record in executive roles, growing the Manchester United brand in new territories and most recently driving business operations with the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL, Reigle will now lead the charge at Formula E and propel the business forward in his new leadership role.
Following the end of season five, the most successful to date for the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, and ahead of the much-anticipated start of season six, the Canadian comes to Formula E from his previous position as Executive Vice-President of Business Operations at the Los Angeles Rams.
Prior to that, Reigle spent a decade as a senior executive at Manchester United where he served as a member of the board of directors, oversaw global commercial activity, launched the club’s Asia Pacific operations and led the company’s initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange.
Reigle was chosen following a rigorous selection process as the ideal candidate with a complementary skillset to work alongside Alejandro Agag, who makes the move to Chairman of Formula E.
Reigle’s commercial background and experience in growing brands – in two of the most prominent global sports leagues – will complement a young and accomplished executive line-up at Formula E. LONDON, UK (September 12, 2019) – The ABB FIA Formula E Championship has further accelerated its audience growth across the board in season five and still remains the sport of choice for young fans, with 72 per cent of followers on social channels under the age of 35.
Consumer growth figures at the end of the season also reflect a similar upward trajectory of the company’s financials. The preliminary numbers show a record revenue of over €200 million (EUR), up more than 50 per cent from last season and a positive EBITDA for the first time in the short history of Formula E.
Not only has Formula E seen a significant increase in revenue, the series has also experienced yet another consecutive year of growth across its digital platforms, as well as increased event attendance and more fans tuning in to watch on television.
Formula E entered a new era in season five, introducing the game-changing Gen2 car, rolling out an innovative race format and adding to the list of iconic cities featuring on the calendar, which in turn created a truly unique and unmissable sporting spectacle.
Coming off the back of the most competitive and unpredictable season so far, which saw eight different winners in the first eight races, the excitement on track has translated into growth across all areas and has again gained most traction with a younger audience.
Following a trend set in previous seasons and showing no signs of slowing, Formula E is continuing to capture a new and young audience, with a rising amount of followers, video views and sustained levels of engagement spread over the most desirable age brackets.
The combined total of followers has climbed 212 per cent compared to last season, more than doubling the number of new fans following the ABB FIA Formula E Championship on social media. Despite drawing a larger following, engagement rates haven’t relented and instead have continued to rise with a 449 per cent increase in interaction on Formula E owned content.
Formula E has focussed its efforts on servicing fans with the latest news, storylines and relevant content to help create conversation, stir debate and generate comments from fans. The series is also committed to producing original content in key markets, with multi-language community management attributing to additional levels of engagement.
The number of video views has grown for a second season in succession, coming in at 61 per cent more than last year and passing the 850 million mark. With 72 per cent of followers aged under 35 and 42 per cent of videos being viewed by fans under the age of 25, Formula E is among the highest-performing sports platforms on the planet in terms of percentage breakdown of young fans.
Targeting and tailoring content to a young audience ties in with Formula E’s broader brand purpose and vision of moving towards a cleaner future, faster – reaching more fans and bringing them one step closer to buying an electric car.
On top of driving digital growth, Formula E has had more event attendees than ever before, surpassing more than 400,000 spectators and ticket holders coming through the turnstiles in season five. Along with increased footfall in cities around the world, the number of fans watching on television has risen 24 per cent year-on-year, with a cumulative TV audience of 411m across 13 races.
After the most successful season to date, the ABB FIA Formula E Championship is already gearing up for the new campaign with the most competitive line-up in motorsport. Both Mercedes-Benz and Porsche join the grid and will be battling for bragging rights when the five lights go out for the SAUDIA Diriyah E-Prix double-header on November 22 & 23.
